5 DAY PRE LIP PREP

To perform PMU on the lips, the skin of your lips MUST be hydrated and moisturized on the day of your appointment.

We ask all clients to begin a daily lip regiment before your scheduled appointment.  You may exfoliate to remove dry skin, using any mild mechanical facial scrub OR make your own DIY scrub by using honey & brown sugar for a week, every other day leading up to your appointment.  Moisturize your lips as much as possible using BrowSavvy balm, Aquaphor or your personal favourite lip chap or balm

If your lips are dry, cracked or peeling we will need to reschedule & you will forfeit your deposit – no exceptions

COLD SORES ARE A RISK OF LIP BLUSH TATTOO.  IF YOU HAVE HAD A COLD SORE IN THE PAST- WE ADVISE YOU TO GO ON ANTI-VIRAL MEDICATION (example - Zovirax, Famvir or Valtrex) PRIOR TO ANY LIP PROCEDURE, THIS IS TO HELP AVOID AN OUTBREAK.  You will need to call your physician in order to obtain your prescription strength anti-viral medication.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Aftercare  is crucial.  It ALWAYS dictates what your final outcome will be.

Please read all aftercare instructions & follow them to achieve optimal healed results.

EYEBROW AFTERCARE

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FULL 10-14 DAY HEALING PERIOD TO ENSURE PROPER HEALING & COLOUR RETENTION.

  • Dry healing. Keep your eyebrows dry & clean. No water or any liquids on brows for 4 to 7 days after procedure
  • If your eyebrows get wet, pat to dry immediately
  • No saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs or extremely hot showers for 10 days
  • If your eyebrows itch, do not scratch or pick at them, but tap them, with freshly washed hands
  • You can disinfect and hydrate the area 2-4 times per day by using a small amount of BrowSavvy balm. Make sure brows are not greasy, just slightly moist, no residue of the oil should appear
  • No sunbathing or tanning beds for 4 weeks
  • No chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser, intensive facial treatments, Botox, or any injections in the area for a minimum of 14 days – no exceptions
  • Do not wear heavy, make up around the affected area for 10 days.  Clean all make up brushes
  • No excessive sweating or intense workouts for 10 days
  • No petroleum, jelly or Vaseline

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Do NOT expect your brow PMU to heal perfectly after 1 session.  Brow micropigmentation is a multi-step process. During your 10-40 day healing process your brows will change & appear different from day to day. Be patient and trust the process
  • Day 3-5, the brows will get dark, day 7-10 a light film will develop, and then flake/fall off, let all pieces fall off naturally do not pick or peel, if removed pre maturely you could lose some of the stroke pattern designed by Sarah
  • You may experience itchiness in the brow area after the 10 day healing period for up to 2 months, this is normal.  The skin is itchy due to the healing process in the dermal & epidermal layers of the skin.
Continue to apply your BrowSavvy balm 1 or 2 times per week to keep the area hydrated, vibrant & bright
  • Any clients who bleed excessively may have trouble retaining pigment & strokes.  They may also require additional perfecting session(s), sooner than the average client.  The reason why is, the blood is pushing out the pigment while the tattooing is in progress, the blood can also “muddy the water” by diluting the pigments used

BROW TOUCH-UPS  - What to Expect?

  • Brow touch-ups are typically done within 4-10 weeks after the initial appointment – 1 touch-up is included in full priced brow packages
  • The first session is used to build shape & gain symmetry, session 2 is used to perfect the brows, add density or even make the brows darker if the client chooses!
  • You will sometimes need a 3rd “touch-up”, a perfecting session

LONG TERM CARE

Every client result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle & the initial post care & long term care of your brow tattoo.  There is no guarantee of results short or long term

  • Prolonged sun exposure will cause fading & can alter the colour of your Permanent Make-up. Use a 30-50 SPF to protect your brows, DAILY
  • Do not do laser to the brow area (IPL etc) some lasers can change the colour of the pigment/ink
  • As your PMU fades the microblading strokes will get fainter & less defined with time
  • Do not use regular chemical exfoliants or peels on then brows
PMU maintenance is required to maintain desired results.  On average touch-ups are completed every 15-18 months

LIP BLUSH AFTER CARE

Remember, place nothing on the treated area (except your aftercare product) until healed. This this means no makeup, creams, water (except for cleansing as detailed below)

  • After your lip blush procedure, your skin will start forming a protective scab. You may see fluid, called lymph, coming out of your lips.  This is normal
  • The fluid should be blotted off with a sterile gauze or pad.  It can cause crusting and prevent the lips from breathing & healing properly
  • After 24 hours, clean the lips daily with warm water & alcohol free/unscented soap. Apply soapy solution on a sterile gauze and blot 4 to 5 times to clean. Then blot completely dry. Use patting motions only
  • Do your best to not get the area wet besides cleaning them until day 7
Reapply BrowSavvy balm multiple times a day for 7 days.    Keep the skin moist at all times
  • No direct sunlight or sun exposure for 4 weeks
  • Drink all liquids through a straw for 7 days
  • Apply a thicker layer of BrowSavvy balm before bathing and brushing your teeth. Avoid toothpaste getting on the lips
  • Do not touch, bite, lick, peel or rub the lips
  • Do not let any water, lotions, make-up or foreign substances touch the area for 7 days.
  • Do not use a vape or smoke for 7 days
  • No excessive sweating for 7 days
  • No spicy, salty, citrusy foods for 7 days

After your Lip Blush treatment, some aids to reduce swelling and can help to alleviate any inflammation include

  • Oral arnica tablets and topical arnica cream
  • Ice or a cold compress applied lightly on the skin
  • Pineapple (canned or fresh) or Bromelain supplements

LIP BLUSH – what to expect

Results will vary for all clients

  • Lip tattoos are unpredictable.  Some clients will yield a strong, saturated healed lip colour while others will only heal with slight colour retention.  This will vary on an individual basis
  • Lips are a muscle & require a touch-up to complete the procedure.  Lip blush touch-ups must be scheduled 4-10 weeks from initial session to help with colour retention. Fail to do so can result in additional charges
  • Hyperpigmentation can happen on any client without warning, during the procedure or during the healing process.  This is a risk that you take on as a new or returning client of lip blush

FRECKLES TATTOOS

For most clients, the healing time is quite quick.  Newly tattooed freckles will be quite dark and look slightly swollen and raised.  Within 6-10 days, freckles will develop tiny scabs, and start flaking off. Do not pick or peel.  Over the next 3-4 months they will fade to a very natural colour

Touch-ups may be required.

  • For the first 24 hours after your procedure - gently dab the area with a warm, damp paper towel to remove any bodily fluids every hour or so
  • Allow the tattoo to dry heal for 7 days
Keep the area moisturized with a thin layer of BrowSavvy balm, the area should never look greasy or wet, only moist.  Do not over apply
  • Do not apply any make-up to the affected area for 10 days – if you absolutely can’t go without, use mineral make-up
  • Wash hands with soap before touching the area, and this should only be to apply aftercare.
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch the area
    Wash your pillow case
  • Wash your make-up brushes
No direct sun light or sunbathing 2 weeks

SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL

The day of your removal procedure – treatment area feels tender and might feel like it’s been burned. You may experience bleeding & lymph coming from the treated area. Your Cosmetic Tattooo/Body Tattoo may look darker during the 6-8 week healing period.

  • Don’t cover the area
  • Leave the area alone while healing.
  • Avoid washing, lotions and soaps for the first 72 hours.
  • No sun light or sun exposure for 2 weeks
  • Avoid activities that cause sweating, as well as immersing the area in water, until the scab has completely fallen off.
  • Allow the scab to fall off on its own! Do NOT pick, peel or scratch
  • Apply vitamin E oil, daily, after the scab falls off
  • Schedule for your 8 week follow-up session
